Challenge

In January 2021, a consumer law firm approached us about assisting them in launching a Group Litigation Order against a well-known car manufacturer for fitting emissions ‘cheat’ devices in certain diesel models. The key challenge for the firm to overcome was not just in alerting affected drivers to the problem, but convincing them to join other affected class members in the action.

What we did

We assisted the firm and litigation funders by delivering a strategic media campaign to reach millions of affected drivers. We developed a strong set of messages and a strategy for the launch. This included a comprehensive stakeholder map and the development of collateral materials and advice on the design and development of the campaign website.

Result

In spite of a highly competitive news environment, we achieved widespread coverage across print and broadcast media, including the Daily Mail, The Sun, Daily Mirror, Daily Express and City AM. Within the first 48 hours of the campaign, we managed to successfully sign-up over 15,000 claimants and received over 100,000 unique visits to the claim website.
